Tour in the « Golden Triangle » of Paris, legendary district in the heart of French capital that offers the very best in haute couture and ready-to-wear luxury fashion.  You can find there top labels like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Guerlain, Hermès, Emilio Pucci, Dior Homme, Celine, Gucci, Emanuel Ungaro, Valentino, Marni, Nina Ricci, le Montaigne Market, Chloé, and many more.
  11. Visit of Yves Saint Laurent Museum (Musée Yves Saint Laurent). The Museum presents more than five thousand pieces of garments, fifteen thousand accessories, as well as sketches, illustrations, photographs and other works of the legendary couturier, created in the period from 1974 to 2002.

16.00 Discovery of Paris, walk through historical districts (Palais Royal, Louvre, Hotel de Ville, Notre-Dame de Paris, Latin quarter).

13.30 Visit of Yves Saint Laurent Museum (Musée Yves Saint Laurent). The Museum presents more than five thousand pieces of garments, fifteen thousand accessories, as well as sketches, illustrations, photographs and other works of the legendary couturier, created in the period from 1974 to 2002.

On the first floor you will have a look into the workshop of Saint Laurent, where he received his clients and created his stunning outfits.  The collection is featuring sketches, personal belongings of the designer, as well as samples of fabrics he has been working with.

14.00 Lecture. Fabric sourcing and selection

Lecture  » Fabric sourcing and selection » is dedicated to fabrics and world market of textile industry.

You will explore the following topics:

Textile Materials Science

  • fabrics differences depending on the manufacturer country
  • French fabrics production and processing stages
  • textile fabrics structure, characteristics and uses

Sourcing

  • you will learn about  main textile manufacturers
  • textile markets

Work at trade fairs

  • learn about the steps of work during a Textile Trade Fair in accordance with your goals
  • consider the stages of buying process from the textile manufacturer

The lecture will take place in the headquarters of French fabric manufacturer. You will see classic fabrics that  from year to year stay en vogue among fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior, Kenzo, but also get acquainted with the fashionable and innovative fabrics of the upcoming seasons.

 HR management, financial management in fashion business

« World practice of creating commercial collections»

The lecture « World practice of creating commercial collections » reveals successful technologies and tools for creating an apparel collection, as well as traces the path of the collection from the idea to its presentation in the boutique.

Get acquainted with the specificity of the process of compiling the assortment of the collection.

12.30 Lunch

14.00 Tour in the « Golden Triangle ».

During the visit of Parisian « Golden Triangle », the legendary district that offers the very best in haute couture and ready-to-wear luxury fashion, your professor will talk about the aspects of visual merchandising:  presentation of collections in the store, interior design, window displays and other selling techniques (based on seasonal events or holidays and adjusted to the collection’s theme). Basic principles of brand promotion on the market.

You will visit the stores of the leading fashion houses: Dior, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chloé, Yves Saint-Laurent, Fendi, Prada, Valentino, D&G.

 

 

Day 5

10.00 Visit private sales of French fabrics haute couture and prêt-à-porter de luxe with the possibility of the purchase at attractive prices.
